Mandatory M-Tag Implementation for Lahore-Sialkot Motorway Travels

Lahore: Starting August 15th, 2024, all vehicles traveling on the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (M-11) will be required to have an M-Tag, a move aimed at streamlining toll collections and enhancing traffic flow.

According to Zameen.Com, the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) introduced this regulation to improve the efficiency of toll collection through the M-Tag system. This electronic toll collection method allows toll fees to be automatically deducted from a linked prepaid account, facilitating a smoother and faster transit through toll plazas by reducing congestion and eliminating the need for cash transactions.

Vehicle owners seeking an M-Tag can acquire one at designated service centers or directly at toll plazas. The process includes linking the M-Tag to the vehicle’s registration and setting up a prepaid account, which can be recharged as necessary. For those needing assistance or more information, the NHMP has established a helpline, available at 1313.
