Meezan Bank Awards Olympic Gold Medalist Arshad Nadeem Rs 9.3 Million

Karachi: Meezan Bank honored Pakistan’s Olympic javelin gold medalist Arshad Nadeem with a cash reward of Rs 9,297,000 at a ceremony held at its head office. Nadeem achieved this historic victory with a record throw of 92.97 meters at the 2024 Olympics, marking the country’s first Olympic gold in 40 years.

According to Meezan Bank Limited, the award presentation was led by Irfan Siddiqui, founder president and chief executive officer of the bank, who personally handed the check to Nadeem. The bank calculated the prize amount by awarding one lakh rupees for every meter of Nadeem’s gold medal-winning throw. In addition to the monetary award, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Syed Amir Ali presented Nadeem with a commemorative shield and medal, celebrating his monumental contribution to Pakistani sports.

The event underscored Meezan Bank’s commitment to promoting sportsmanship and supporting athletes at both national and international levels. Both Siddiqui and Ali commended Nadeem’s perseverance and dedication, noting that his success serves as an inspiration and a unifying symbol for Pakistan, encouraging young athletes across the nation to pursue their sporting ambitions.
