The Instagram Map, now accessible at the top of users' Direct Message inboxes, enables Pakistanis to engage with stories, reels, posts, and notes tagged with specific locations. This allows users to easily discover what their friends and favorite creators are sharing from various local spots, including concerts and cafes.

Privacy remains a paramount concern with this feature. By default, location sharing is turned off, allowing users full discretion over who can view their location. A visible indicator at the top of the map signals whether location sharing is active, complemented by reminders when adding location tags. Parents monitoring teenagers on Instagram have oversight capabilities, allowing them to manage their child's location-sharing preferences.

Meta has introduced refinements to the Instagram Map to enhance user experience. This includes the removal of profile photos from the map, clearer indicators for when location sharing is disabled, and previews of how tagged content will appear.
