Mian Abu Zar Shad Takes Oath as LCCI President, Vows to Strengthen Business Community’s Role in Economic Policy

Karachi: The newly elected President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Mian Abu Zar Shad, along with Senior Vice President Engineer Khalid Usman and Vice President Shahid Nazir Chaudhry, took their oaths during the LCCI Annual General Meeting. The new leadership pledged to advocate for the business community and contribute to the country’s economic growth.

According to Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, former Presidents Mian Anjum Nisar and Muhammad Ali Mian, along with other outgoing and incoming officials, addressed the gathering. Mian Abu Zar Shad reflected on his long journey and celebrated the chamber's recent electoral victory. He welcomed government initiatives such as the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and emphasized the need for continued collaboration between the government and business community in policy-making.

The new LCCI President shared updates on the economy, citing significant improvements, including a reduction in inflation and policy rates, and a boost in GDP growth. He urged the government to expand the tax net, simplify the tax system, and support struggling small traders. Senior Vice President Khalid Usman and Vice President Shahid Nazir Chaudhry reiterated their commitment to serving the business community and advancing LCCI’s role in promoting economic stability.
