Mobilink Bank and CARE Pakistan Launch Initiative to Empower 50,000 Women

Islamabad: Mobilink Bank, a leader in digital microfinance in Pakistan, has partnered with CARE Pakistan to launch the Strive Women program, aiming to empower 50,000 women over the next three years through financial literacy and skills development. This initiative is designed to provide women with the necessary resources to start or expand their businesses, fostering greater economic equality and prosperity.

According to Mobilink Bank, the program will offer comprehensive support services, including affordable loans, financial literacy training, and mentorship, tailored specifically for women entrepreneurs. By addressing the barriers that limit women’s participation in the business sector, Mobilink Bank and CARE Pakistan are committed to enhancing women’s roles in the workforce and promoting an inclusive economic environment.

Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, Interim CEO of Mobilink Bank, emphasized the bank’s dedication to empowering women through the Women Inspirational Network (WIN) program, which has already assisted 15,000 women. The collaboration with CARE Pakistan aims to extend these efforts, leveraging both organizations’ expertise to reach a wider audience of marginalized women, helping them to achieve financial independence and act as agents of change within their communities.

Adil Sheraz, Country Director of CARE Pakistan, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the pivotal role of women entrepreneurs in economic growth. The Strive Women program, supported by Mobilink Bank and the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, is part of a broader effort to build a robust support system for women-led businesses and create sustainable opportunities for women in the business sector.
