Islamabad: Mobilink Bank, a leading digital microfinance institution, has announced a strategic partnership with Daraz Pakistan, the country's largest e-commerce platform, to enhance financial inclusion and digital capabilities for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Pakistan. The collaboration aims to foster grassroots economic growth and achieve long-term macroeconomic benefits.

Mobilink Bank President and CEO, Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, and Ehsan Saya, Managing Director of Daraz Pakistan and Sri Lanka, formalized the partnership in Islamabad. The agreement enables Mobilink Bank to offer tailored financing solutions ranging from PKR 25,000 to 3 million to MSMEs and women entrepreneurs associated with Daraz.

Daraz, through this partnership, will provide a digital marketplace for MSMEs to showcase and sell their products online. This initiative creates a comprehensive empowerment ecosystem by combining financial access with digital sales opportunities, aiming to increase the reach and sustainability of small-scale entrepreneurs.

Mobilink Bank will extend its green financing initiatives to Daraz employees and suppliers, offering home solar and e-bike financing alongside free banking services to promote sustainability and financial inclusion throughout the supply chain.

Commenting on the collaboration, Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary stated that the partnership with Daraz offers dual growth pathways for MSMEs, particularly those led by women, through customized financial access and digital empowerment. This effort underscores Mobilink Bank's commitment to financial inclusion and the development of marginalized economic segments.

Ehsan Saya echoed these sentiments, emphasizing Daraz's dedication to empowering small businesses by bridging digital divides and facilitating growth opportunities. The partnership enhances Daraz's capacity to support MSMEs by integrating financial accessibility with the reach of its digital marketplace.

Looking ahead, the partnership plans to introduce innovative digital financial solutions, such as QR code-based payment options for Daraz deliveries, to boost convenience and security for customers. Additionally, Mobilink Bank is considering cash deposit facilities at local branches to provide greater cash flow management flexibility for Daraz sellers.
