Mobilink Bank Wins Digital Nations Video Creativity Award for Women’s Inheritance Rights Campaign

Islamabad: Mobilink Bank, Pakistan’s leading digital microfinance bank, won the ‘Digital Nations Video Creativity Award’ at the M360 APAC event in Seoul. The award was given for their campaign, The Invisible Heirs, which focuses on women’s inheritance rights in Pakistan. The campaign was recognized for its innovative approach to social change through digital technology.

According to Mobilink Bank, the campaign received the award at the event organized by the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA). Hande Asik, Group Director of Communications and Strategy at VEON, accepted the award on behalf of the bank. The Invisible Heirs campaign has been instrumental in highlighting the issue of women’s inheritance rights in Pakistan, utilizing digital tools to foster societal progress.

The campaign featured an Inheritance Calculator integrated into Mobilink’s DOST app, which helps women calculate their lawful inheritance share. This tool is part of the bank’s broader effort to use technology to address social issues and empower individuals.

Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, Interim CEO of Mobilink Bank, remarked on the achievement, stating the award emphasizes the bank’s commitment to using technology for social betterment. He highlighted that the campaign is a key aspect of the bank’s strategy to impact communities positively as it navigates through the digital age.
