Mohamed Essa Al Taheri Appointed as U Microfinance Bank’s Acting President and CEO

Islamabad, U Microfinance Bank has ushered in a new leadership era with the appointment of Mr. Mohamed Essa Al Taheri as its Acting President and CEO. Already familiar with U Bank's operations through his role on the Board of Directors, Mr. Al Taheri brings with him extensive experience from prominent financial institutions and a track record that spans over two decades.

Mr. Al Taheri's association with the financial sector is well-established, having previously been part of e and Group as the Group EVP of Financial Policies and Systems. His academic credentials include a Master's degree in International Business acquired from the University of Wollongong, Dubai. In his expansive career, he has held positions at institutions like HSBC Bank, Dubai Commercial Bank, and the Development Board of Dubai Government.

This leadership transition at U Bank follows the resignation of Mr. Kabeer Naqvi, who had been at the helm as the President and CEO. Serving U Bank since 2015, Mr. Naqvi's tenure was marked by substantial advancements, spearheading innovations, and achieving significant growth milestones that have elevated the bank's standing in Pakistan's microfinance sector.
