Murree Cracks Down on Illegal Constructions to Enhance Civic Amenities and Maintain Charm

Rawalpindi, In a robust response to the Punjab government's directives, Murree's district administration has launched an intensive crackdown on illegal constructions to preserve the hill station's appeal. This operation is spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi following instructions from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

According to Zameen.Com, Commissioner Rawalpindi Aamer Khattak has organized three teams to manage the crackdown. These teams are led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue, retired Captain Qasim Ijaz; Assistant Commissioner, retired Captain Abdul Wahab Khan; and the DFO Murree. Personnel from various departments have been mobilized, each briefed on their roles in this mission.

The crackdown's main objective is the eradication of unauthorized constructions, with a broader aim to boost civic amenities. Deputy Commissioner Shirazi stressed the importance of Murree's transformation into a clean and green destination. He called on both residents and tourists to use designated bins for waste to aid this transformation.

In addition to construction controls, the administration is taking steps against artificial price inflation. Price magistrates are now monitoring markets to ensure compliance with pricing regulations and are authorized to take legal action against violators. Hotels and restaurants are also under scrutiny with daily inspections to enforce pricing standards.

The district administration has committed to leveraging all resources to enhance the experience of both locals and tourists in Murree. Residents are encouraged to report any problems to the authorities for immediate action. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to maintain Murree's status as a top hill station while safeguarding the welfare of its community and visitors.
