NADRA Announces Updated Fees for Smart ID Cards in 2024

Islamabad: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced updated fees for the Smart National Identity Cards (SNIC) starting from September 2024. These new fees align with the services’ processing times and ensure the continued provision of crucial identification for Pakistani nationals.

According to Zameen.Com, the Smart ID Card remains an essential document, integrating biometric technology to authenticate identity and address, pivotal for engaging with services across the banking, telecommunications, and government sectors. The revised fee structure is segmented into three service levels to accommodate different urgency needs of the applicants.

The normal service is priced at PKR 750, with the processing time commencing post-approval and the card remaining valid for 10 years. For those requiring faster processing, the urgent service is available for PKR 1,500, also valid for 10 years. The executive service, providing priority handling, is set at PKR 2,500, with the same validity period. It is important to note that these fees do not cover any additional delivery charges.

Renewing the Smart ID Card in a timely manner is crucial for uninterrupted access to essential services such as banking, property transactions, and employment verification. This proactive renewal is also vital for the accurate distribution of government subsidies and welfare benefits, helping to mitigate fraud risks. NADRA encourages cardholders to renew their Smart ID Cards either before or shortly after expiration. For further information or to initiate the renewal process, individuals can visit the NADRA website or any nearby registration center.
