Karachi: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has become the first commercial bank in the country to enter into a co-badging agreement with 1LINK and Mastercard, marking a pivotal development in the advancement of digital payment solutions in Pakistan. This agreement, signed during a ceremony at NBP's headquarters, is set to enhance the bank's debit card offerings by incorporating Mastercard's global payment network.
According to National Bank of Pakistan, the agreement was signed by Mr. Rehmat Ali Hasnie, President of NBP, and Mr. Najeeb Agrawalla, CEO of 1LINK, with Mr. Arslan Khan, Country Manager of Mastercard, also present. The event was attended by senior officials including Mr. Adnan Nasir, SEVP & CDO of NBP; Mr. Faisal Topra, SEVP & Group Chief RBG (A), NBP; Mr. Fouad Farrukh, SEVP & Group Chief AIBG; Mr. Amin Manji, SEVP & CTO NBP; Mr. Amyn Sajwani, Regional Sales Manager Thales BPS; Mr. Shahzad Shahid, CEO TPS, and Mr. Fahad Mahmood, CEO Decagone Pvt Ltd.
Mr. Rehmat Ali Hasnie emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership, highlighting its role in providing customers with secure and efficient payment solutions. The collaboration with Mastercard is expected to enhance the acceptance of digital payments, offering seamless banking experiences on a global scale.
