Karachi, Chairman of National Business Group Pakistan, President of the Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum, and All Karachi Industrial Alliance, Mian Zahid Hussain, emphasized on Monday the significant anticipation within the business community regarding the return of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Hussain believes that Sharif's return will bring political balance and stability, benefiting the nation's economy and its people.
According to a news release by Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum, despite enduring jail, exile, and various challenges, Nawaz Sharif refrained from inciting the public or speaking of retribution in his recent speech, showcasing his political acumen. During a dialogue with the business community, Hussain pointed out that Sharif did not make exaggerated promises or threaten adversaries, demonstrating his desire for peaceful politics over tumultuous confrontations. Sharif's remarks provided relief to many, as continued protests and political clashes could further strain the nation.
Additionally, Mian Zahid Hussain noted that Sharif, despite having grievances, chose not to mention the armed forces or the judiciary in his speech. This omission indicates a willingness to leave past disputes behind and work towards a better future. Highlighting the tone and content of the speech, Hussain described it as serious, balanced, and thought-provoking. Sharif's current stance opposes confrontational politics and focuses on tackling significant issues like poverty, inflation, insecurity, and injustice, rather than battling politicians and institutions.
In his concluding thoughts, Hussain emphasized that political factions claiming to enhance Pakistan should refrain from tarnishing the political environment for personal gains. Recognizing past political and economic missteps, Nawaz Sharif is dedicated to pulling Pakistan out of its prevailing challenges. Should he chart a sound course and propose a feasible economic strategy, Sharif will likely garner unwavering support from the public, business sectors, and key institutions. As underscored by Hussain, the consensus among stakeholders is clear: prioritizing national preservation and economic revival is essential for the country's future.
