Karachi: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a reduction of PKR 1.67 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) in the Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) for April 2024, offering relief to consumers of K-Electric in their upcoming July bills.
According to K-Electric, this decision follows NEPRA’s earlier announcements on FCA rates from previous months, which set the adjustments for July 2023 and September 2023 at PKR 1.7111 per kWh and PKR 1.3946 per kWh, respectively. These adjustments are part of NEPRA’s routine assessments to align domestic electricity charges with the fluctuating global fuel prices and changes in the electricity generation mix. This measure ensures that the financial impact on consumers is moderated in response to external economic factors.
