Karachi: NEPRA has concluded a public hearing regarding the Quarterly Tariff Adjustment (QTA) petition filed by XWDISCOS for the period from October to December 2024, marking the second quarter of fiscal year 2025. The proposed adjustments include several charges associated with system operations and are guided by government directives.
According to a statement by K-Electric, the final decision, once issued by the regulator and notified by NEPRA and the Government of Pakistan, will apply to all customers of distribution companies, including K-Electric. The notification will specify the amount to be charged in customer bills and the duration for which these charges will be applicable.
The power sector in Pakistan operates under a regulated framework, where electricity costs and associated charges are determined by NEPRA and subsequently notified by the government. Distribution companies do not have the authority to alter this process or make changes independently.
