SKARDU: Nestle Pakistan inaugurated its fifth Nestle for Healthier Kids (N4HK) room in Gilgit-Baltistan at the Government Model Boys High School Hussainabad, Skardu, aiming to enhance nutrition awareness in the region.

The N4HK program is part of Nestle's global initiative focused on educating children about the importance of nutrition. In Gilgit-Baltistan, over 500 teachers have been trained across various districts, including Hunza, Gilgit, and Skardu, with hopes of reaching more than 20,000 children.

Governor Gilgit Baltistan, Syed Mehdi Shah, attended the inauguration and highlighted the program's impact on nutrition awareness. He emphasized the regional government's commitment to supporting and expanding the program.

Jason Avanceña, CEO of Nestle Pakistan, noted the program's success across Pakistan, with 400,000 children reached and over 2,600 teachers trained nationwide. The initiative has also established 20 N4HK rooms in partnership with public and private sectors.

Beyond nutrition, Nestle has partnered with WWF to train more than 2,200 children in sustainability, fostering environmental stewardship. The company's efforts also include installing benches, waste bins, and donating reusable bags in tourist hotspots throughout the region.

The N4HK program aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3, advocating for good health and well-being. Nestle, with a 36-year presence in Pakistan, continues to focus on creating shared value for communities.
