Nestle Leads Gains in Robust Day for Pakistan Stock Exchange

Karachi: In a day marked by significant gains, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) saw its indices rise, with the KSE100 index climbing 984.51 points to settle at 143,037.17. Nestle emerged as the top gainer, with its share price surging by 10% to 8,698.32.

The KSE30 index also rose, gaining 289.41 points to reach 43,996.15. The day's percentage change for the KSE100 stood at 0.69%, while the KSE30 increased by 0.66%.

Year-to-date, the KSE100 has risen by 24.24% in CY25 and 13.86% in FY26. The market capitalization of PSX reached Rs 17,109.49 billion, which represents a 0.67% increase from the previous day.

Alongside Nestle, other notable gainers included Nishat Mills Limited (NML), which rose by 9.51% to 146.49, and Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Limited (FATIMA), which increased by 5.39% to 124.06.

Conversely, the session witnessed some declines. Ghani Global Holdings Limited (GHGL) fell by 1.58% to 42.91, while Lotte Chemical Pakistan Limited (LCI) decreased by 1.49% to 369.93.

The PSX reported a total trading volume of 549.72 million shares, with a value amounting to Rs 37.04 billion. The 12-month average daily turnover stands at 666.34 million shares.

In regional comparisons, South Korea's KOSPI index gained 1.6%, while India's BSESN index experienced a slight decline of 0.4%.

The PSX remains on an upward trajectory, reflecting investor confidence despite some sectors facing challenges.
