Karachi: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed Nihal Hashmi, a seasoned leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), as the Governor of Sindh, drawing praise and confidence from regional leaders.
According to Pakistan Business Forum, Malik Khuda Bakhsh, President of the Forum's Sindh Chapter and Chief Adviser to the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association, extended his congratulations to Hashmi, stating that the people of Sindh, particularly those in Karachi, have full confidence in Hashmi's leadership and commitment to public service. Highlighting Hashmi's extensive political career, Bakhsh noted his past roles as Adviser to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Law and Justice, President of PML-N Karachi, and General Secretary of the party's Sindh chapter.
Bakhsh emphasized that Hashmi's appointment is a positive step for Sindh, anticipating that it will lead to enhanced focus on the province's development. He expressed hope that Hashmi, as governor, will be able to address the infrastructure challenges facing Karachi and other parts of Sindh by securing federal funds.
