Khairpur: United Energy Pakistan (UEP), operating within the Sawan South Block, has announced a significant gas discovery at the Akhiro-1 well, located in the Lower Goru B reservoir. The well is currently delivering an estimated gas flow of 10 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd). Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC), which has a 20% stake in the venture prior to commercial production, anticipates a positive impact on its earnings per share (EPS) following this discovery.

According to AKD Securities Limited, "OGDC’s involvement in the discovery translates to an estimated annualized EPS impact of PkR0.10." This discovery bolsters the company’s portfolio in the region, adding valuable assets and potentially enhancing shareholder value as it progresses towards commercialization.
