OGDCL Boosts Production at Revitalized Dars West-1 Well in Sindh

Tando Allah Yar: OGDCL has successfully enhanced the oil and gas output of its Dars West-1 well in Tando Allah Yar, Sindh, following a strategic workover and recompletion in the Lower Goru formation. The initiative has resulted in a substantial increase in production, with 330 barrels per day (BPD) of oil and 12.0 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas now being produced.

According to Oil and Gas Development Company Limited, the Dars West-1 well, operational since February 2017, was initially shut down in May 2024 due to excessive water production. The recent workover, conducted in September 2024, targeted and shut off the water-producing zone, allowing for revitalized production. The extracted resources are processed at OGDCL's Kunnar Pasakhi Deep-Tando Allah Yar (KPD-TAY) Plant, where 53 metric tons per day (MTD) of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is also being recovered. The processed gas is integrated into the SSGCL network, enhancing the national gas supply.
