Islamabad: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has unveiled a series of technological upgrades aimed at revolutionizing its exploration capabilities. This move is expected to significantly enhance operational efficiency while maintaining a commitment to environmentally sustainable practices.

According to a statement by Oil and Gas Development Company Limited, the initiative was inaugurated by Ahmed Hayat Lak, the Managing Director and CEO of OGDCL, during a commissioning ceremony. The introduction of new seismic equipment marks a pivotal step towards improving the company's data acquisition processes and overall exploration efficiency.

Among the new technologies are the 508XT Data Acquisition System, equipped with 25,000 ground electronics designed for precise and reliable large-scale 2D/3D seismic data collection. Also introduced were the Nomad 65 Neo Seismic Hydraulic Vibrators, which are engineered to optimize performance in seismic source generation.

Additionally, OGDCL has incorporated Man-Portable Seismic Drilling Rigs (HY40F), which are lightweight and portable, facilitating operations in challenging field environments. These advancements are part of OGDCL's broader strategy to enhance operational excellence and innovation while upholding environmental stewardship.

The adoption of this cutting-edge technology is anticipated to result in seamless operations with zero downtime, improved vibroseis source capabilities, and increased efficiency in dynamite source usage for OGDCL's seismic crews.
