Oil and Gas Production Sees Yearly Increase Amid Weekly Gains

Karachi: Weekly hydrocarbon production has seen a notable increase, with oil and gas production rising by 12% and 20% year-over-year, respectively, as of August 31, 2026. On a week-over-week basis, oil production increased by 2%, reaching 68,462 barrels per day, while gas production also rose 2%, totaling 3,088 million cubic feet per day.

According to AKD Securities Limited, the rise in oil production was primarily driven by increased output from the KPD and Adhi fields, which grew by 9% and 4% week-over-week, respectively. These gains were partially offset by declines in the Nashpa and Pasakhi fields, which decreased by 1% and 2% week-over-week. In terms of gas production, Mari and Uch fields contributed to the increase with a 1% rise each, while a 3% week-over-week decline at the Kandhkot field led to modest overall gains.
