PACRA Reaffirms Ratings for University of Management and Technology

Lahore: The Pakistan Credit Rating Agency Limited (PACRA) has announced the continuation of its ratings for the University of Management and Technology (UMT), maintaining its long-term rating at A- and short-term rating at A2, with a stable outlook. The reaffirmation reflects the university's solid financial footing and its strategic expansion efforts in the higher education sector.

According to a statement by The Pakistan Credit Rating Agency Limited, UMT, a non-profit private institution founded in 2004, has experienced significant growth in both student enrollment and academic offerings. The university serves over 25,000 students and employs approximately 300 PhD-qualified faculty members across its campuses in Lahore and Sialkot.

The university is known for its Social Science Technology School and School of Health Sciences, both of which have seen increased enrollment due to their strong faculty and innovative programs. The institution is also investing in new disciplines such as artificial intelligence and data analytics, while planning to expand into the medical college sector.

UMT's financial stability is underpinned by low-leveraged capital and efficient management of its working capital cycle. The presence of experienced educationists on its governing boards further strengthens its governance framework. The university's ability to maintain its financial margins and ensure sufficient cash flow and coverages is crucial for sustaining its ratings. Any significant decline in financial performance could negatively affect its ratings.
