PAF Achieves Dual Honors at International Air Show

Islamabad: The Pakistan Air Force has claimed dual honors at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2025, marking a significant achievement for the nation in the global defense arena. The JF-17C Block III received the "Spirit of the Meet" award, while the C-130H Hercules was recognized with the "Concours d'Elegance" award.

Mian Zahid Hussain, Chairman of National Business Group Pakistan and President of the Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum, highlighted the strategic and economic implications of these accolades. He emphasized that the JF-17C Block III's recognition underscores Pakistan’s advanced defense capabilities and its potential to offer competitive 4.5-generation fighter jets at an affordable price, appealing to international buyers.

The award for the C-130H Hercules reflects the Pakistan Air Force’s high standards of maintenance and professionalism, validating the country’s Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities as a viable service export. Hussain also noted that such achievements enhance Pakistan's global image as a technologically advanced nation, which can attract foreign direct investment and challenge existing negative perceptions.

According to Hussain, the success at RIAT is expected to significantly boost export prospects for the JF-17 Thunder, exemplified by a $4.6 billion deal with Azerbaijan. This positions Pakistan as a key player in the global defense market, particularly as the country navigates its fiscal challenges.

These accomplishments at the RIAT not only promise long-term economic and diplomatic benefits but also contribute to the growth and diversification of Pakistan's aerospace industry. The recognition serves to bolster international confidence and could stimulate broader economic engagement and tourism.
