ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2026 (PMIF26) is set to take place on November 12-13 at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad. The event aims to bring together policymakers, mining executives, investors, and technical experts to discuss investment prospects in Pakistan's mineral sector.
According to Special Investment Facilitation Council, the forum is organized by the Government of Pakistan and endorsed by the council, with Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) as the founding partner. This year's forum seeks to capitalize on the previous year's momentum by turning discussions into tangible investments, partnerships, and projects related to mineral exploration and sustainable mining.
Strategic partners for PMIF26 include PPL, Mari Energies, GHPL, Reko Diq Mining Company, PMPL, and Frontier Works Organization. Wood Mackenzie leads the conference production, with Milbank, White & Case, and Lazard serving as knowledge partners. Academic institutions such as NAVTTC, NUST, the University of Peshawar, and engineering universities from Peshawar and Lahore are also involved.
The forum will address the increasing strategic importance of critical minerals in the global energy transition and advanced manufacturing. It will feature prominent speakers, including Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. International speakers like John L. Thornton of Barrick Mining Corporation, Robert Friedland of Ivanhoe Mines, and others from the Asian Development Bank and Çal?k Group will also participate.
Over the course of two days, the conference will cover a range of topics, including investor-ready mining jurisdictions, critical minerals, financing exploration, workforce development, and environmental considerations. A technical conference will present over 50 peer-reviewed papers and a workshop on innovation in critical minerals mining.
An international exhibition will offer a platform for project developers, investors, and industry stakeholders to showcase solutions and establish partnerships. Exhibitors will include local and international companies such as the Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation, Barrick Mining Corporation, and others. The exhibition will also feature a European Pavilion to explore international partnerships.
Building on the success of PMIF25, which attracted 5,000 delegates from over 50 countries, PMIF26 aims to further strengthen Pakistan's connections with global mining and investment networks.
