Pakistan Reinsurance Company Reports Decline in Profit Despite Increase in Premiums

Karachi: Pakistan Reinsurance Company Ltd. (PAKRI) announced a decline in its profitability for the calendar year 2025 despite a significant rise in its gross written premium. The company's net profit dropped by 17% compared to the previous year, reaching PkR3.1 billion, down from PkR3.8 billion. This decrease was primarily attributed to an increase in claims.

According to AKD Securities Limited, the company's gross written premium experienced a substantial growth of 29% year-over-year, totaling PkR32.0 billion in 2025, up from PkR24.7 billion in the same period last year. This growth was mainly fueled by advancements in the aviation sector and new business from engineering-related services.
