According to JS Global, notable gainers for the day included YOUW, which rose 7.72% to a price of 5.30, and TPLRF1, which increased by 4.31% to 9.43. Meanwhile, the market's capitalization in local currency terms increased slightly by 0.20% to Rs 18,927.61 billion, though it remains below its 52-week high of Rs 21,304.78 billion.
On the downside, PSEL experienced the most significant drop, with its price declining by 8.86% to 1,019.63. Other losers included SSOM and LOTCHEM, reflecting ongoing volatility within the market. The trading volume for the day reached 591.23 million shares, with a total value of Rs 20.19 billion.
In the broader regional context, the performance of other Asian markets was mixed. China's SSEA index rose modestly by 0.3%, while Indonesia's JKSE fell by 0.8%. The Korean KOSPI saw a notable gain of 62.3% year-to-date, contrasting with other regional markets that have posted declines.
