Pakistan Stock Exchange Indices See Significant Gains as KSE100 Climbs Over 3%

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced substantial growth on its indices, with the KSE100 index seeing a notable increase of 3.29%, closing at 178,853.09 points. The KSE30 index also showed a significant rise, ending the day at 54,676.70 points, marking a 3.52% gain.

According to JS Global, the market capitalization of PSX increased by 2.85%, reaching Rs 20,227.21 billion. This surge in market activity was accompanied by a total trading volume of 697.68 million shares, with a total value of Rs 49.99 billion. The U.S. dollar equivalent of the value was approximately $178.82 million.

In terms of individual stock performance, THALL and HBL were among the top gainers, each recording a 10% increase in their stock prices. PTC also saw a significant rise, with a 9.94% increase. In contrast, PIOC and POML were among the day's losers, with their stock prices decreasing by 9.51% and 4.55%, respectively.

The report from JS Global also indicated year-to-date changes, with the KSE100 index showing a 2.76% increase for the calendar year 2026 and a 42.37% increase for the fiscal year. The PSX's market capitalization in U.S. dollars stood at $72.35 billion.

The regional markets showed mixed results, with indices such as India's BSESN and the Philippines' PSI seeing minor increases, while other markets like China's SSEA and Korea's KOSPI remained unchanged.
