Karachi: Pakistan's major stock indices experienced a decline, with the KSE30 and KSE100 indices closing at 51,703.16 and 173,636.08 points, respectively. The drop represented a decrease of 1.13% and 0.97% in daily change, according to data from JS Global's latest report.
According to JS Global, the KSE100 index's top gainer was PSEL, with a price increase of 7.55%, closing at 891.12. In contrast, the biggest loser was CNERGY, which saw a decrease of 6.47%, closing at 13.02. The market capitalization for the Pakistan Stock Exchange was reported at 19,434.53 billion rupees, a 0.99% decrease from the previous day, with a total market value in US dollars standing at 70.06 billion.
In terms of trading activity, the total volume of shares traded stood at 679.19 million, with a value of 23.69 billion rupees, equivalent to approximately 85.41 million US dollars. The report also highlighted that the 52-week high and low for the KSE100 index were 189,166.83 and 146,480.16 points, respectively.
The regional market indices showed varied performances, with Korea's KOSPI experiencing a significant gain of 4.6%, while India's BSESN fell by 0.5%. The report provides a snapshot of the ongoing volatility in global markets amid various economic challenges.
