Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange experienced a downturn on October 9, 2025, as both the KSE30 and KSE100 indices recorded losses. The KSE30 index fell to 50,635.12, a decrease of 181.86 points or 0.36%, while the KSE100 index dropped by 735.94 points, closing at 164,530.81, marking a 0.45% decline.
During the trading session, the indices fluctuated within a range, with the KSE30 reaching a high of 51,334.36 and a low of 50,551.33. Similarly, the KSE100 hit a peak of 166,729.97 before dipping to 164,306.77.
Market turnover showed an increase in activity, with 1,570,375,438 shares traded in the regular market, up from 1,274,692,822 in the previous session. However, the traded value decreased to 50,527,778,241 from 61,130,008,721. Market capitalization also saw a slight decline from 19,148,720,162,530 to 19,064,205,525,526.
In the futures market, the turnover rose to 329,172,000 from 236,160,000, although the traded value dropped to 17,277,393,115 from 18,565,274,940. The over-the-counter (ODL) market experienced a significant decrease in both turnover and traded value.
