Pakistan Stock Exchange Sees Gains as KSE-100 Index Climbs Over 1.5%

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a notable rise on Monday, with the benchmark KSE-100 index climbing by 1.56%, closing at 168,460.11 points. This surge equated to a gain of 2,592.80 points, marking a positive shift after recent declines.

According to JS Global, several stocks emerged as prominent gainers. AGP Limited led the pack with a price increase of 7.59%, reaching 161.45. TRG Pakistan followed closely, recording a 7.56% rise to 55.34. Cnergyico PK Limited also performed well, gaining 5.90% to close at 12.93. Meanwhile, the total trading volume on the PSX was substantial, with 432.02 million shares traded, amounting to a total value of Rs. 20.14 billion, equivalent to $72.69 million.

The market capitalization of the PSX also saw an increase, climbing by 1.34% to Rs. 18,712.19 billion, or $67.54 billion. Despite this positive performance, the year-to-date figures for the calendar year 2026 and fiscal year 2027 remain in the red, with declines of 4.97% and 6.27%, respectively. The KSE-30 index also saw an uptick, closing 1.67% higher at 50,346.10 points.

On the losing side, SSOM witnessed the most significant drop, with a decrease of 9.97%, closing at 430.58. Other stocks such as HGFA and SAZEW experienced declines of 2.76% and 2.24%, respectively.

In the regional context, stock indices showed mixed results. While Korea's KOSPI decreased by 0.9%, indices in Indonesia and India recorded gains of 1.2% and 0.9%, respectively.
