Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a positive trading session with both the KSE100 and KSE30 indices showing notable gains. The KSE100 index rose by 1,934.73 points, marking a 1.19% increase to close at 164,831.42, while the KSE30 index increased by 669.37 points or 1.37%, reaching 49,356.83.
According to JS Global, the session saw POWER, SRVI, and FCCL among the top gainers, with their prices increasing by 4.83%, 4.65%, and 4.25%, respectively. The total market capitalization of the PSX stood at Rs 18,243.48 billion, reflecting a 0.90% increase. In terms of trading volume, a total of 386.39 million shares were traded, amounting to a value of Rs 20.13 billion or approximately $72.25 million.
Despite the positive performance, some stocks, including PAKT, PGLC, and GHGL, were among the top losers, with PAKT falling by 3.85%. The market's year-to-date performance shows a decline of 7.35% in market capitalization for the calendar year 2026. The regional markets presented mixed results, with the Chinese and Indonesian indices posting declines, while Korea's KOSPI showed a 71.1% increase for the year-to-date.
