Pakistan Stock Exchange Surges as KSE-100 Index Climbs 1.74%

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a notable upswing with the KSE-100 index gaining 2,885.10 points, marking a 1.74% increase to close at 168,519.94. The KSE-30 index also saw a rise of 1.86%, ending the day at 50,918.37. This positive movement comes amidst a backdrop of fluctuating regional markets, offering a bolstering effect on investor sentiment.

According to JS Global, the market capitalization of the Pakistan Stock Exchange stood at Rs 18,610.16 billion, reflecting a 1.66% increase in day-over-day terms. The year-to-date figures reveal a gain of 34.14% for the fiscal year 2026, with the market capital reaching as high as Rs 21,304.78 billion over the past 52 weeks. The total volume of shares traded amounted to 1,205.84 million, with a total value of Rs 59.42 billion or approximately $212.99 million.

Among the top gainers, Bank of Punjab (BOP) saw a 7.30% increase, Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SAZEW) climbed by 6.73%, and Kohinoor Textile Mills Limited (KTML) was up by 6.69%. Conversely, EFU General Insurance Limited (EFUG) was among the top losers, with a 4.87% decline. Other regional markets showed mixed performance, with India's BSESN rising by 1.6% while Indonesia's JKSE fell by 0.7%.
