Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange experienced a downturn as both the KSE30 and KSE100 indices recorded significant declines. The KSE100 index fell by 2,320.76 points, marking a 1.30% decrease, while the KSE30 index dropped by 665.92 points, a 1.25% decline. The market capitalization also witnessed a decrease, standing at Rs 19,790.42 billion, a drop of 1.25%.
According to JS Global, the day saw notable movements in both gainers and losers on the KSE100 index. Among the gainers, HGFA led with a 2.65% rise, followed by CNERGY and PGLC, which saw increases of 1.98% and 1.53%, respectively. On the losing end, LOTCHEM, AICL, and KTML experienced declines of 4.34%, 3.71%, and 3.21%, respectively.
The total volume of shares traded on the Pakistan Stock Exchange was 621.02 million, with a total value of Rs 29.88 billion. The day's performance is set against a backdrop of regional market fluctuations, with indices in China and Taiwan witnessing declines, while markets in India, Indonesia, and the Philippines showed positive movements.
