Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a mixed trading session as the KSE100 index recorded a minor decrease of 0.10%, closing at 182,153.55 points, while the KSE30 index saw a slight increase of 0.14%, ending at 55,771.26 points. The overall market capitalization experienced a decrease of 0.37%, standing at Rs 20,633.75 billion.
According to JS Global, the day saw varied performances among stocks, with Cnergyico PK Limited (CNERGY) emerging as the top gainer, increasing by 7.42% to close at Rs 8.25. Other notable gainers included Engro Corporation (ENGROH), which rose by 5.59%, and Lotte Chemical Pakistan (LOTCHEM), which increased by 5.33%. In contrast, TRG Pakistan Limited (TRG) was the biggest loser, dropping by 9.25% to Rs 70.12, followed by K-Electric Limited (KEL) with an 8.39% decline.
The total trading volume for the day reached 1,062.31 million shares, with a total value of Rs 37.88 billion. The highest trading volumes were observed in KEL, CNERGY, and Worldcall Telecom Limited (WTL).
Regional markets showed a mix of performances, with the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSEA) and Korea's KOSPI experiencing marginal increases, while India's BSE Sensex and Malaysia's KLSE recorded minor declines. The Philippines Stock Exchange Index (PSI) was the standout performer with a 2.0% increase.
The PSX continues to navigate a complex economic environment, with investors closely monitoring fluctuations in market indices and individual stock performances.
