Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd. Reports 58% Revenue Increase in First Quarter

Karachi: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd. (PTC) has reported a significant increase in revenue for the first quarter of calendar year 2026. The company announced a 58% year-on-year increase in revenue, reaching PKR 97.8 billion, compared to PKR 61.9 billion in the same period last year. This growth is attributed to substantial gains in both the Wireline and Wireless segments, driven primarily by the acquisition of Telenor.

According to AKD Securities Limited, the company's earnings for the quarter also saw a notable rise, with an increase of 2.8 times year-on-year to PKR 3.1 billion. The acquisition of Telenor and a recovery in the banking segment were key contributors to this earnings expansion.

During the analyst briefing, PTC management outlined future plans, noting that although Ufone and Telenor currently operate independently, a merger is anticipated following court approval expected in June 2026. The company also expects cost savings from tower shedding to begin materializing by calendar year 2027.
