Pakistani Government Allocates PKR 78 Billion for Sindh Infrastructure Projects

Islamabad: The Pakistani Government has earmarked a substantial PKR 78 billion for the development of various infrastructure projects in Sindh, as part of the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the current fiscal year, with significant allocations for the Sindh Coastal Highway and the Stone Pitching Northern Dadu Canal.

According to Zameen.Com, the PSDP report revealed that PKR 1.14 billion has already been disbursed in the first two months of the fiscal year. The funding includes PKR 1 billion specifically for the enhancement of the Sindh Coastal Highway and PKR 1.6 billion dedicated to the Stone Pitching Northern Dadu Canal project.

Additionally, the Sindh government has given the green light for the construction of an expressway that will connect the Karachi Port Terminal to Jam Sadiq Bridge. This new 12.5-kilometer expressway, set to link with the Malir Expressway, will be developed through a public-private partnership (PPP) model, in collaboration with local government bodies and the PPP unit. The initiative is part of a broader effort that includes 22 federal projects currently underway in Sindh, all aimed at boosting regional development.
