Karachi: The Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP) reported significant variations in the open market exchange rates for major currencies against the Pakistani rupee on August 17, 2026. The exchange rates highlighted the changing dynamics in the currency market, impacting both buying and selling prices for a range of international currencies including the US dollar, euro, and British pound.
According to Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan, the US dollar was being bought at 278.46 rupees and sold at 279.47 rupees. The euro saw buying and selling rates of 321.57 and 324.61 rupees, respectively. The British pound was purchased at 376.21 rupees and sold at 379.45 rupees. Among other currencies, the Japanese yen had buying and selling rates of 1.74 and 1.80 rupees, while the United Arab Emirates dirham and Saudi riyal were traded at 75.76 and 76.46 rupees, and 74.08 and 74.68 rupees, respectively.
