Pakistan’s Delegate Leads Global Political Seminar in China

Beijing: Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, serving as the Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Commerce and a senior spokesperson for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, is leading a delegation of 21 spokespersons from multiple political parties worldwide in a workshop series in China. The event, initiated by the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), began on November 10, 2025, and spans several cities.

The delegation, featuring representatives from regions including South Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America, attended a session led by IDCPC Vice Minister Sun Haiyan. The session provided an overview of the Communist Party of China's governance model, focusing on its anti-corruption measures, innovation strategies, and development policies centered on public welfare.

Vice Minister Sun introduced the 15th Five-Year Plan for 2026 to 2030, emphasizing goals like green energy, digital transformation, and technological independence in artificial intelligence and semiconductors. The plan aims for a 5% annual GDP growth rate, building on the previous plan's focus on poverty reduction and recovery post-pandemic.

In addition, Sun presented President Xi Jinping's vision for a global community with a shared future, stressing the importance of multilateral cooperation, the Belt and Road Initiative, and joint efforts in addressing climate change and ensuring global stability.

Afzal Khan, as the group leader, underscored the parallels between this initiative and Pakistan's objectives under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, especially in renewable energy and agriculture sectors. He noted that the engagement enhances mutual understanding and reinforces global political discourse.

The IDCPC's initiative aims to foster international party-to-party cooperation and shared development strategies.
