PBF Karachi Chapter Lauds Contributions of Gohar Ejaz and S.M. Tanveer to Pakistan’s Business Sector

Karachi: Malik Khuda Bakhsh, President of the Pakistan Business Forum (PBF) Karachi Chapter, recently highlighted the significant contributions of Dr. Gohar Ejaz and S.M. Tanveer to the economic stability of Pakistan. Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the PBF Karachi Chapter, Bakhsh recognized both leaders as pivotal assets for the nation’s business community.

According to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the event, held at a local hotel, was marked by discussions on vital strategies aimed at enhancing business growth in Karachi. Key sectors were identified for support to bolster the local economy. The meeting also saw the participation of notable figures such as PBF Sindh Chairperson Ms. Shabnam Zafar, and Vice Presidents Mahmood Yaqoob, Mian Arshad Farooq, Ejaz Alam, and Ms. Rubina Rasheed, among others.

The forum passed a resolution backing the United Business Group’s decision to challenge the Independent Power Producers (IPPs) in the Supreme Court, aiming to alleviate the financial strain on businesses by revising existing power agreements and removing capacity charges. This initiative is expected to support industrial activity and boost exports. The PBF Karachi Chapter also pledged to work closely with the government and other stakeholders, establishing monthly meetings to foster a more business-friendly environment in Karachi.
