PCB Announces Upgrades to Major Cricket Stadiums in Preparation for Champions Trophy

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has initiated a significant upgrade for three major cricket stadiums — Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Stadium in Karachi, and Rawalpindi Stadium — to prepare for the upcoming Champions Trophy. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has granted final approval for the redesigns, aiming to modernize these venues to international standards.

According to Zameen.Com, Chairman Naqvi, following his recent visit to the UK where he met with BDP, an international stadium design firm, expressed satisfaction with the progress and the final design plans. “Completing these upgrades on schedule is a significant challenge,” Naqvi stated, “but I am confident that our team will rise to the occasion and complete the projects on time.” He highlighted the importance of having the stadiums ready well before the Champions Trophy to meet the high standards required for the event.

Naqvi also assured personal oversight to ensure timely completion of the upgrades, which are expected to significantly enhance the facilities and enable them to host top-tier cricket events in the future.
