PCB Initiates Major Upgrades to Cricket Stadiums in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has launched an extensive project to upgrade Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Stadium in Karachi, and Rawalpindi Stadium, with a focus on modernizing these venues in anticipation of the upcoming Champions Trophy. Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who recently approved the final redesign plans, emphasized the importance of meeting international standards for the prestigious tournament.

According to Zameen.Com, during his latest visit to the United Kingdom, Naqvi visited the headquarters of BDP, a globally recognized stadium design firm. He reviewed progress on the redesigns and expressed satisfaction with the final plans presented by the design team. “Completing these upgrades on schedule is a significant challenge,” Naqvi stated, “but I am confident that our team will rise to the occasion and complete the projects on time.”

Naqvi also assured that the renovations would be completed well in advance of the Champions Trophy, ensuring that the stadiums meet the high standards necessary for hosting such a high-profile event. He confirmed his personal oversight of the upgrades, underscoring the PCB’s commitment to enhancing the country’s cricket facilities to international levels, thereby facilitating the hosting of top-tier cricket events in the future.
