Lahore: The Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) celebrated the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China at its Secretariat in Lahore. The event was highlighted by the presence of Mr. Sun Yan, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Lahore, who reiterated China's commitment to deepening its partnership with Pakistan. The event brought together a diverse group of diplomats, business leaders, policymakers, and academics to reflect on the historical relationship and explore future cooperation.
According to the Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Consul General praised PCJCCI's role in fostering bilateral engagement and promoting economic diplomacy. He highlighted the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a framework for peaceful cooperation and shared development, especially amidst global geopolitical tensions. Mr. Sun Yan underscored the importance of business-to-business and cultural exchanges in cementing the partnership between the two nations.
Nazir Hussain, President of PCJCCI, noted the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China as a catalyst for economic growth and regional connectivity. He outlined the potential for continued collaboration in technology, industrial cooperation, and other emerging sectors.
Lt. Gen. Nasser Khan Janjua (Retd), former National Security Advisor of Pakistan, emphasized the stability that the Pakistan-China relationship provides in an uncertain global environment. He described CPEC as a transformative initiative capable of driving long-term economic prosperity and encouraged further people-to-people interactions.
Commercial Ambassador Adeel Munawar highlighted the new era of economic collaboration between the countries, driven by innovation and digital transformation. He urged the private sectors to leverage opportunities in technology, manufacturing, agriculture, and renewable energy.
