PIA Holding Company Reports Increased Losses for 2025

Karachi: PIA Holding Company Limited (PIAHCL) has reported a significant increase in its consolidated net loss for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2025, as revealed in a corporate briefing session. The net loss expanded to PkR25.4 billion, compared to PkR14.4 billion in the same period last year, with losses per share reported at PkR4.85 and PkR2.43 for Class A and B shares, respectively.

According to AKD Securities Limited, the increased losses follow the incorporation of PIAHCL under a Scheme of Arrangement approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) in May 2024, with the company being listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange on May 27, 2024. The previous year's financial results had benefited from a one-off tax credit of approximately PkR30 billion, which was not present in the current year's accounting.

The financial year 2025 also saw Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL) being classified as held for sale and discontinued operations, impacting year-over-year comparability. As a result, the reported consolidated revenue for 2025 stood at PkR25.7 billion, a substantial decrease from PkR239.7 billion in the same period last year, when PIACL was fully consolidated into the company's financial statements.
