Lahore: The Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) Board of Directors approved a 53 billion PKR budget for the fiscal year 2024/2025 during their 166th board meeting. Key allocations include 9 billion PKR for Quaid-e-Azam Business Park and 2 billion PKR for Bahawalpur Industrial Estate. The session, presided over by Chairman Javed Iqbal, also saw approvals for various strategic developments across multiple industrial estates.
According to Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company, the board’s decisions also encompassed the expansion of Multan Industrial Estate with new land acquisitions and the establishment of a police post at Quaid-e-Azam Business Park. Additional measures included securing contracts for providing security services across industrial estates and developmental projects in Bahawalpur Industrial Estate. The board also revised the operational, maintenance, and administrative frameworks for Rahim Yar Khan, Bhalwal, and Vehari Industrial Estates, aiming to enhance their governance and efficiency.
The meeting highlighted ongoing development efforts at Quaid-e-Azam Business Park and plans for the upcoming Garment City. Provincial Minister of Industry and Commerce, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing industrial facilities, noting the establishment of Business Facilitation Centers in major Punjab cities to streamline services for industrialists.
