Karachi: PTCL Group has announced a strategic partnership with Smart MEP to revolutionize Pakistan’s Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) sector using Vodafone’s IoT Core Platform. The announcement, made at GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai, marks a significant move towards digital transformation and innovation in the country’s industrial landscape.
Vodafone's IoT Core Platform, combined with PTCL's local infrastructure, promises a secure and scalable environment for Pakistani enterprises to develop and implement IoT solutions. This initiative allows businesses to tap into Vodafone’s extensive global experience in managing IoT connections.
Smart MEP, a leading engineering and system integration firm in Pakistan, will utilize the PTCL IoT Core to design and commercialize IoT solutions. Their focus will be on areas such as energy management, smart utilities, water metering, and smart manufacturing.
The collaboration was formalized by Asif Ahmad, Group Chief Business Solutions Officer of PTCL and Ufone 4G, and Nadeem Malik, CEO of Smart MEP, during the sidelines of the event in Dubai. Syed Atif Raza, Group Chief Commercial Officer of PTCL and Ufone 4G, was also present along with senior management from both organizations.
Asif Ahmad emphasized PTCL Group’s commitment to enabling data-driven efficiency and innovation for businesses. He noted that the partnership with Smart MEP aligns with PTCL's goal to become a leader in digital transformation for Industrial IoT in Pakistan.
