ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has reported strong financial results for the first half of 2026, showcasing a 62% year-on-year growth in consolidated revenue. The growth was driven by continued expansion across its fixed, enterprise, and mobile businesses, alongside the integration of Ufone and Telenor Pakistan under Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML).
According to Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited, the company's operating profit saw a 226% increase, reaching a net profit of Rs. 4.7 billion. This improvement reflects the successful amalgamation and consistent operational efficiencies. PTCL's revenue rose by 8%, bolstered by a 27% increase in Flash Fiber revenue and 13% growth in Business Solutions. The mobile business under PTML recorded a 138% increase in revenue, significantly influenced by the Telenor Pakistan integration.
Operational achievements during the second quarter included the completion of the Ufone and Telenor Pakistan amalgamation under PTML, marking a major telecom consolidation in Pakistan. PTCL surpassed 900,000 Flash Fiber subscribers, solidifying its position as the leading fiber broadband provider in the country. Strategic partnerships with companies like Apple's authorized distributor and Okasha have expanded PTCL's customer offerings, enhancing the adoption of high-speed internet and smart home solutions.
PTML's mobile business saw growth driven by customer engagement and the adoption of higher-value bundles. The integration milestone enabled seamless communication for over 74 million subscribers, supported by a joint brand campaign. The company also initiated its 5G rollout, improving network capacity and coverage.
Social impact initiatives included a postpartum depression awareness campaign reaching 26 million people and a digital and entrepreneurial skill development program for women under the Ba-Ikhtiar programme. Collaborations with UNICEF and the Telecom Foundation further supported polio awareness and safe internet practices.
The company's continued focus on digitization resulted in increased digital recharge penetration and active engagement on its digital platforms, reflecting PTCL's commitment to innovation and customer-centric strategies.
