PTCL Group Reports Significant Growth and Community Initiatives in Third Quarter

Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), a leading telecom and ICT service provider, has reported a robust 15.3% year-over-year growth in revenue, reaching Rs 160.6 billion for the quarter ending September 30, 2024. Despite facing a net loss, the company has shown substantial progress in various business segments and community initiatives.

According to Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited, the growth was primarily driven by its consumer segment, particularly fixed broadband, mobile data, and wholesale and business solutions. PTCL’s revenue alone stood at Rs 79.5 billion, marking an 11.1% increase compared to the same period last year, with significant contributions from fixed-line and business solutions segments.

PTCL has made notable advances in its Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) services, under its ‘Flash Fiber’ brand, which saw a 111.5% year-over-year growth. This effort has established PTCL as a leader in the FTTH market, with over 600,000 subscribers. Additionally, the company’s business services segment grew by 38.3%, enhancing its leadership in IP bandwidth, cloud, data center, and ICT services.

Ufone 4G, part of the PTCL Group, also reported impressive growth with a 25.6% increase in topline revenue during the first nine months of 2024, driven by network expansion and strategic initiatives that enhance customer experience and digital engagement.

In the realm of corporate social responsibility, PTCL Group has partnered with various organizations to support community initiatives. Notably, it collaborated with UNICEF and NEOC to conduct an awareness campaign in selected districts across Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh to promote polio vaccination. Moreover, PTCL Group signed an MoU with ConnectHear for a GSMA project to provide free data for the ConnectHear app, supporting communication for the deaf community during disasters.

In Q3 2024, PTCL Group embraced national pride by signing Pakistani javelin star Arshad Nadeem, who won Gold at the Paris Olympics 2024, as a brand ambassador and also partnered with the Pakistan Hockey Team to promote the sport and bolster national pride.

As part of its commitment to empowering communities, PTCL Group, in collaboration with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, submitted a grant application to UN Women for a PKR 713 million women empowerment project. Additionally, it provided a year of free broadband connectivity to the IT Incubation Center of Hope Uplift Foundation in Lahore to support IT education for underserved students.
