Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has announced a strategic collaboration with GBM Pakistan and IBM to modernize its IT infrastructure. The partnership aims to enhance PTCL's operational efficiency and prepare the company for future innovations through a comprehensive upgrade of its Enterprise Systems.

According to a statement by Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited, the initiative includes the deployment of IBM Power10 servers across PTCL's production, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) environments. These servers are expected to improve PTCL's performance by managing increasing data demands. Additionally, the integration of IBM Spectrum Scale is set to optimize data management processes and increase scalability, ensuring PTCL's infrastructure is prepared for future growth.

Jafar Khalid, Group Chief Technology and Information Officer at PTCL and Ufone 4G, emphasized the importance of this upgrade in an evolving telecommunications environment. He highlighted PTCL's commitment to enhancing capabilities and delivering value to customers through the adoption of advanced technologies like IBM Power Systems and IBM Spectrum Scale.

Asif Ahmad, Country Manager and Technology Leader for Pakistan at IBM, noted IBM's commitment to supporting PTCL's growth by improving performance, efficiency, and scalability while reducing operating costs. The new systems are also designed to enhance security and reliability, crucial for supporting business-critical applications.
