Punjab Allocates PKR 24 Billion for Major Development Initiatives

Lahore: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved funding exceeding PKR 24 billion for a range of development projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure and agricultural efficiency across Punjab.

According to Zameen.Com, the PDWP meeting led by Barrister Nabeel Awan focused significant financial resources on sustainable development, including a PKR 9 billion investment in solar power systems to boost agricultural productivity. Additional projects include erosion control along the River Chenab’s left bank in Hafizabad, costing PKR 848.97 million, and extensive road rehabilitation and improvement efforts across several districts, with the Faisalabad-Jaranwala road receiving PKR 3.8 billion for upgrades.

The initiatives further cover the rehabilitation of Ghazi Road in Lahore, with an investment of PKR 530 million, and several road improvements in Nankana Sahib, Okara, and Sahiwal districts, totaling over PKR 10 billion. These projects collectively aim to strengthen Punjab’s infrastructure and promote regional development.
