Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has unveiled the ‘Apni Chat Apna Ghar’ scheme, a new initiative aimed at providing affordable housing options to the residents of Punjab. The scheme includes significant support measures such as interest-free loans and a solar energy program intended to alleviate living costs.
According to Zameen.Com, the ‘Apni Chat Apna Ghar’ scheme offers a PKR 15 lac interest-free loan to facilitate the purchase of residential plots—5 marla in urban areas and 10 marla in rural areas. A three-month grace period during which no loan repayments are required is also part of the package. Furthermore, Chief Minister Nawaz announced plans for Pakistan’s largest solar program, set to start next year, which could significantly reduce or even eliminate electricity bills for the scheme’s beneficiaries.
The scheme is set to be rolled out across all major cities of Punjab, featuring houses with two bedrooms, a TV lounge, a bathroom, and a kitchen. Potential applicants can submit their applications through the Punjab Information Technology Board’s (PITB) online portal or seek assistance via the dedicated helpline.
